Chill Country Supports AI Artists

Last week, 6.7 million people found an AI-generated Monet painting online and tore it apart. They called it soulless, fake, and classic AI slop.
someone posted a real monet painting but said it was AI – I'm actually in awe at these artchads who clocked it as real immediately https://t.co/JJMhbOPdOR pic.twitter.com/LOgRsEVClV

It was a real Monet.
The point isn’t that people are dumb. The point is that taste is harder to trust than we think, especially when we’ve been primed to react before we actually listen.
You probably had a reaction to the title of this post. Keep reading.
The AI Problem in Music Is Older Than You Think
There’s already a ton of music out there that sounds like it was written by ChatGPT. Not because it was (debatable), but because it was engineered, focus-grouped, and produced to trigger a stream within the first eight seconds and never make anyone feel anything by accident.
Take this song for example:
It sounds like ChatGPT wrote it. You can’t convince me otherwise.
People still listen to it. People love songs about fishing, trucks, and cold beer. Luke Bryan was probably a good songwriter at some point. Then he signed a deal with the machine. Now he optimizes for broad, safe, and inoffensive. The machine already knew it would work.
What’s my point? The music industry was already spitting out formulaic garbage before ChatGPT existed. Some people can’t tell, just like the Monet situation. AI music isn’t some new threat. There will just be more of it. And it’s not going to take an opportunity from anyone who actually deserved one.
Some people care deeply whether their music comes from a real human being. Others don’t. That was true long before AI was a thing.
Chill Country Sessions
Chill Country supports AI artists. Actual independent artists. While we cannot control the amount of AI slop that goes out onto our feeds, we can try and create as many awesome videos of talented human beings as we can.
Enter Chill Country Sessions. Artists swing by, play a few songs, we shoot and edit the videos and audio, and we collab post with the artist on their own channels. They get high-quality recordings. We get content that feels real because it is. Nobody signs anything. Nobody pays anything.
Some people will filter out AI-generated music. Some won’t care. But for the people who do care, just know that you have the power to support human artists, just like you always have.
If you are a human artist, just know that nothing really changes with the emergence of AI. There will always be slop out there. Make the real stuff.

Get you a Chill Country gummy and check out some Actual Independent artists on Chill Country Sessions.
