Here’s what’s happening in Texas

On July 31st, Texas is putting every non-delta-9 THC molecule on its controlled substances list. Delta-8, delta-10, THCP, and the rest of the synthetic, lab-made or manipulated cannabinoids are coming off the shelves. The Texas Supreme Court sided with the state back in May, the rule was published July 10th, and it takes effect at the end of the month.

We’ve always used naturally occurring delta-9 THC and other minor cannabinoids, all pulled straight from federally compliant hemp. Nothing converted in a lab, nothing synthesized, nothing we can’t trace back to the natural plant. A lot of hemp brands built their businesses on delta-8 and converted cannabinoids because it was cheap and easy. We didn’t.

The bigger fight isn’t over, though. The Texas Senate still wants a full ban on all of it, natural delta-9 included. Last year, we beat the ban bill when Governor Abbott vetoed it. A couple weeks ago the Texas Senate ran a seven and a half hour hearing to reboot their ban efforts, and it was invite only. No hemp farmers, no small business owners, nobody who actually uses cannabis got to testify. Read my breakdown of the hearing here.
